The Jerusalem Probation Station at Colebrook site, one of 75, demonstrates several important aspects of convict administration in Van Diemen’s Land between 1834 and 1849 which was an important phase in the history of convict transportation and the use of convict labour. The tool-marks of the convict stone masons are clearly visible on the sandstone walls.
