I said to that lady who was a lawyer, "I can’t stay in McKinnon. I have to find a studio," and she helped us get the studio in the end. Of course I didn’t know the history of the studio, but the atmosphere was bewitching! It was the studio of Tom Roberts, McCubbin, Conder, all the great painters had that studio. We lived there for 16 years. It was beautiful. No.9 Collins Street. --Mirka Mora
