My favourite Classic Queenslanders
QLD’er homes are usually timber & can be low or high-set, 1 to 2 storeys. They have 1 or more veranda spaces, a sheltered edge that is typically partly enclosed & used as another living zone. Underfloor area is used to cool thru ventilation & protection from termite attack & other pests. The underfloor space is often decoratively screened @ the perimeter. Typically, they are suited to sub-tropical climates with high rain & mild/hot/humid climates average summer temps of 23–36 degrees Celsius.
