Every year over 1200 humpback whales migrate north from the Antarctica waters north to Hervey Bay and up to the Whitsundays. If you're travelling the coast May to Oct, you have a chance to see these magnificent creatures. At some headlands along the coast you may be lucky to spot one, otherwise you can take a day tour from places like Sydney, Brisbane and Hervey Bay to spot the whales. #whales #thisisqueensland

Cape Tribulation, north of Cairns and the Daintree River. It's a spectacular drive, (sealed road) surrounded by tropical rainforest and only a short trip out to the Great Barrier Reef. Complete with a couple of campgrounds, it's worth it.
