These small ceramic floral pin rests are a new addition to Cohana for Spring Summer 2022. It's a ceramic needle rest, with needle polisher to sharpen your needles. Made by Mr. Tile, Minamiawaji City. These are a reference to the Awaji Kawara ceramic tile making method. The practice dates back to 1610, when the first roof tiles were made for castles. Different techniques resulted in different colours and finishes. These use the method applied for ceramic roof tiles which are glazed and fired. Floral Pins, Stuff To Do

They are made by Hasegawa cutlery, the makers of the baby mini scissors. ⁠ The lacquer coating of the handles is made by Ehara Lacquer Works of Nagoya, who use the technique originating to make traditional Buddhist lacquerware. ⁠ The red handles are finished with the Shunuri technique, creating the vibrant vermillion red, resulting in s smooth-surface fingers slips into easily.
