“I started learning guitar when I first listened to Tracy Chapman’s album when I was about 13 or 14 and decided that I wanted to learn all her songs since I can remember but never came from a musical family so only started really taking my music outside of closed doors about 5 years ago.”
Chris Ott “My passion for music had just emerged. Although it wasn’t until I arrived in New Zealand a year and a half ago that I decided to focus on music full-time while travelling the world- and that’s when I feel I finally felt like a real musician.
“I saw Dan Mangan (A Canadian artist) at the Calgary Folk Festival and was completely amazed. I remembered thinking to myself- what if I could do that? So I learned a few songs on the guitar and a couple months later decided to try busking at the local farmer’s market”
