This finely-woven kilim must have been woven around Taurus mountain by nomadic Turkmen people, south of Konya in southern Anatolia. When viewed horizontally, the larger panels divided by ornamented bands are seen clearly as double-sided pointed niches similar to the ones in the specific region. Three specific motifs are welcoming the eyes with ying-yang and the hook in the center section motifs (design) and Memling (mingling) /Turkoman rose (gul) designs in the outer part of the center.
