Their rugs usually containing three techniques together, respectively, embroidery, knitting, and flatweave.
Reza Shah tried to repress the Bakhtiari, and yet their pattern of migration continues to this day; from their winter quarters on the fertile plains of Khuzestan and Luristan and around Dezful, Gatuard and Shushtar, they cross the Zagros Mountains to the Chahar Mahal valley. The remote valleys of the Zagros are speckled in the summer months with the triangular black tents of the Bakhtiari.
