Since 1997, AECOM has contributed to a multitude of projects associated with the Stapleton Redevelopment and has led an interdisciplinary team to produce architecture and landscape design guidelines, a major urban park and greenway masterplan and a light rail/commuter rail station area plan, transforming Denver's abandoned 4,700-acre Stapleton Airport, the nation's largest urban infill project, into a mixed-use community with 25,000 residents and 30,000 jobs.
London 2012 Olympic Legacy Communities Scheme, London, United Kingdom. The 2012 Olympic Games have created a unique opportunity for the regeneration and redevelopment of an entire new urban district in London. In leading the development and testing of this Scheme, AECOM has been working collaboratively with the London Legacy Development Corporation, the ODA Planning Decisions Team, host boroughs and local communities.
Msheireb Masterplan, Doha, Qatar. Doha's city center regeneration covers a 35-hectare site and involves creating a modern and revitalized heart for the capital, rooted in Arabic and Islamic traditions. The objective is to create an urbane and sophisticated city core which will be attractive to the Qatari citizens. This is to be achieved through physical transformation of the urban form, landscape, land use and infrastructure. AECOM is providing master planning services.
