The Great Plant Escape is an elemertary plant science program for 4th and 5th grade students. Each of the lessons in this program is interdisciplinary, designed to introduce students to plant science and increase their understanding of how food grows.
Need a fast growing plant for a science lesson? Try popcorn kernels. Do not use microwave popcorn. Have students plant one of these and a Lima bean. They can then compare how the grow. One is a dicot and the other is a monocot.

This is an easy way to do this and is referred to as an "Observation Log." It is generic in nature and can be made numerous times. It provides a small spa...
