Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | The latest hospitality project to join our family; Manly Wharf Bar in Manly sits at the water's edge. With ocean views as the hero, we aimed to create a free-flowing interior with delineated areas for bars, the Bar Tropic restaurant, as well as private spaces and public areas. Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | "During the planning phase of the project, we worked to create varying experiences of casual dining. This prime position in the floor plan frames stunning harbour views through awning hung steel-framed windows. A galvanised steel ledge on washed brickwork piers surrounds a stunning centrepiece of sandy terrazzo built by Will’s team at Re.Studio Collective," - Senior Associate Sophie Harriss.

Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | Reflecting on the seating design in this part of the Manly Wharf Bar Principal Jeremy Bull writes, "The rear banquette is constructed from painted concrete blocks with a gently tessellated pattern, and topped with leather upholstery and a hardwood timber ledge. The side elevation of the banquette is a half block cantilever which casts a lovely simple shadow over the burnished concrete slab. It defies its mass and solidity."

Manly Wharf Bar | HOSPITALITY | Our PR & Marketing Director Tess Glasson talks to sustainability in this project, "Like all our projects, less is more. The purposeful decluttering of this tenancy fit out is both an aim to return more experience for less work, but as much to reduce or remove the churn of fit out work and position the business for its next 20 years with only the necessary new furniture and paint required to get it there.

PRACTICE NOTES | Manly Wharf Bar | Our Principal Jeremy Bull explains “I love when a project can bridge the line between residence and public domain. Small cues, little familiar shapes, tones and colours which can hold relevance on both sides of this line. I think all our work endeavours to hold a tension, to walk a line between sometimes competing narratives. They are little stories, but they are beautiful in their power.”
