Great entertainment for the cat too!

The second coral was a rock with numerous morphs all over it. By day they are shades of blue and green. But at night under the blue lights they show up yellow. Its quite amazing how different the tank can look during the day compared to night. I will take a photo tonight to show the colour difference.

Next come the corals. My first purchases were 2 completely different types. This is a Kenya coral. Not so good for colour but adds form to a reef with its many branches.

A few days later the bi-colour dottyback arrived. This little fish is the complete opposite of Homer and full of colour. Apparently this is the poor mans version, half yellow half purple. The rich man can afford one completely purple all over. To be honest I preferred the half 'n' half version so home he come.

Next I added a lawnmower blenny. This guy is one of the ugliest marine fish out there. Absolutely no colour and a face only a mother could love. I named him Homer. But he does do a marvellous job at cleaning algae. Due to being a new tank build there are times of algae blooms and Homer helps keep that in check.

Finally all the water parameters were right and I could start to add fish and corals. First up was some clowns. Very entertaining and made the aquarium a lot more interesting finally.

First I needed an aquarium. Space was limited but there was enough room for a this tank which holds 128ltrs. I added a new Tunze skimmer and LED lights. The next 6-8 weeks was spent cycling with the live rock.
