Considering the natural material, Agave (cactus) plant, sources agree normally such a garment would not survive 20-30+ years. Moreover, that the seam (a single thread of Agave) still binds the two heavier pieces of cloth 480 years later is equally astonishing. Notable too that the Tilmà had been venerated for centuries, thereby exposed to light (natural & artificial), moisture, humidity, & unavoidable pull of gravity. The colors remain vibrant & unfaded. Overall, a baffling enigma to science.
