1995 - The singularly coolest body of water I've ever been in. It's very warm (not quite hot), and has bubbles like champagne. There are ancient columns and ruins scattered throughout. It's fed by natural hot springs. Turkey Resorts, Turkey Destinations, Pamukkale, Mini Vacation, Vacation Spots, Places To Travel, Places To See, Turkey Culture, Going On Holiday

Good night, Posterous

Pammukale is a gorgeous natural tourist attraction in Turkey. It's a bunch of ever-changing cascading pools formed by hot springs, which trickle down and re-deposit the limestone-based travertines. Essentially, this beautiful and alien-looking landscape is a constantly-evolving preciptation formed from a soup of soft calcium carbonate (AKA chalk, or antacids).
