This was the BEST review activity I have ever done! I even overheard a 7th grade boy say, "Wow, this is FUN!" That my friends, is hard to do - especially in math class when we are working on solvi...

This section covers: Basic Parent Functions Generic Transformations of Functions Vertical Transformations Horizontal Transformations Mixed Transformations Transformations in Function Notation Writing Transformed Equations from Graphs Rotational Transformations Transformations of Inverse Functions Applications of Parent Function Transformations More Practice (For Absolute Value Transformations, see the Absolute Value Transformations section.) Before we get started, here are links to Parent…

I’m always looking for ways to let kids practice in class without necessarily even realize that is what they are doing because they are having a little fun doing it. We are working on solving…

Yes, I am loving some foldables right now! The kids love them too. They get to cut, glue, hi-light, and write in little boxes. Plus, when they are studying, they can just flip up and look at one…

Could do something similar for integrated science and defining the variables for power, velocity etc.

This Graphing Worksheet will produce a four quadrant coordinate grid and a set of ordered pairs that when correctly plotted and connected will produce different characters.

Function of the Week Idea. Give the template, then have them fill in a new function each week

You have several options with this sort.Students can graph the equation then look for the matching graph, or they can take a graph find the matching equation. Equations are in both standard and vertex form. You can also have student match the equations together to work on changing equations from one...

We have been busy, busy, busy this year in Algebra 2! Now that we're on Unit 4, I decided it was time that I get our pages from Unit 2 and Unit 3 posted! Our first unit of the year covered the basics of functions. I posted the pictures of the rest of Unit 1's material here. But, I had yet to finish or take a picture of our function transformations foldable at that time. This foldable was created after students had explored function transformations using an activity I learned about this…

Be the class hero with the Graphing Calculator! Show you Algebra, PreCalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics students all the ins and outs of how to use the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus.

I can't wait to use this (review) activity with my Precalc class. As the students come in the room, I'll hand them a parabola graph card. They will go to three different areas and pick up the equation card, the axis of symmetry card and the vertex card. There are only 12 of each, so I made two sets. One set is shown and the other one is printed in blue, green, teal and purple. I will post the answers on the smart board for them to self-check. This isn't my original idea. Credit to follow…

Systems of Linear Equations: Students go through the booklet and make choices that direct them to another page - They have to set up the system correctly, choose a method to solve, and show all work right in the book. Their choices lead them through the story!
