We found some #pools where your are virtually guaranteed of a good view of a #Platypus #aus_wildlife

Platypus Pools

One of the major positives at the these pools was that we were able to get eye level with the Platypus without having to get down and dirty on the ground

Wombats

The Common Wombat sleeps during the day in underground burrows and feeds on native grasses and roots.

Bare-nosed Wombat

The Bare-nosed Wombat is stocky, with a large, flattened head, short limbs and powerful claws for digging. Scientific name: Vombatus ursinus

For a bit of fun we set up an infra-red remote sensor camera on a well-trodden Wombat trail to try and get some pictures of these shy animals

The Brush-tailed Possum generally uses large tree hollows for shelter, but will also use roof spaces and sheds of nearby dwellings.

The Common Brush-tailed Possum is usually silvery-grey above and pale grey or white below, but occasionally entirely blackish or rich orange.
