Best of 2016: Bouquets & Botanics - nouba.com.au
Few things tickle our fancy more than beautiful blooms. 2016 was all about pushing botanic boundaries ever further, with epic installations, wild, oversize bouquets and arbours too pretty for words. Organic, unstructured forms and a fresh palette were key in the year that was. Exotics took centre stage, with orchids in particular playing a starring …

Peachy February Wedding at Port Arthur
Photography by Love Jennifer Photography February is a busy month for weddings here in Tasmania. I started February 2016 with a gorgeous local wedding, held in the old church at Port Arthur Historic Site. Its the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor, being a ruin with no roof or windows and a carpet of green grass on the floor. It has great atmosphere for a wedding ceremony. Soft Pinks and Greens for a January Wedding
January Wedding Bouquet Soft pinks and mint greens were the colours for this January wedding. The bride loved eucalyptus and gum nuts and wanted something soft to compliment the bridesmaid's dresses in mint. January was challenging this year with warmer than average temperatures and much lower rainfall than usual. It meant that there was some unusual timing with some of the blooms, but we managed to come up with some pretty colours and textures to suit the theme. White Ice Proteas flowering…
DIY Bush Wedding in March
In March this year, I supplied flowers for a wedding held on a local property here on the beautiful Tasman Peninsula. When I delivered the flowers on the morning of the wedding, I could see why the couple were keen to have their wedding here. A gorgeous bush property right next to the water on Norfolk Bay - a great place for a memorable wedding. The colour scheme was pink and pretty, with native blooms, and the idea was for the bride and groom to do their own decorating and possibly the…

Colourful Summer Backyard Wedding
This January it was my pleasure to create some flowers for a simple backyard wedding in Hobart. The weather was warm and the yard had been planted out with lots of colour to create a gorgeous environment for the ceremony. "Rich native colours" was the request, so I knew I'd be using the Safari Sunset Leucadendrons in the mix. Their rich burgundy colour in summer is always a great addition to a bouquet. The focal flowers were rich pink-red Protea Compacta and apricot-orange Leucospermum…
