Our 10 days in Mexico City
When planning our year of travel, we knew we wanted to do something special to ring in the new year. We had several places on our list, many of which are famous for their midnight celebrations. We decided the way we wanted to end our year and start 2023 was in a new country and precisely one that neither of us had visited before. Without hesitation, we booked our flights to Mexico, planning a 3-week holiday starting in the capital city....

Located on the Yucatan Peninsula, two hours south of Cancun, is the Caribbean coastal town of Tulum. For a small beach town, Tulum is packed with things to do, and based on the construction we saw on our trip, it is only going to continue growing. When we were planning our trip to Mexico, Tulum was the place we were most excited to visit. We had planned to hire a car and get around to as many cenotes, archaeological sites and beaches as we could. The first thing we noticed about Mexico City was how busy and alive it was. Turns out, the capital city of Mexico is actually the most populated city on the continent of North America. It also has the most museums in the world, one of the largest city parks in the world and one of the biggest taxi fleets in the world. The same tour also took us to the Coba Archaeological Zone. It is quite impressive how much there is to see at this site. The Zócalo is the main square in the historic district of Mexico City. It is also the largest public plaza in Latin America and often swarming with people. Best places to Eat in Tulum, Mexico
While we were walking the street, exploring Tulum, we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to stop for a drink on the front porch. We started by ordering margaritas but ended up also getting a burrito, fish tacos and another couple of drinks. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the prices were affordable, especially considering we were just around the corner from some more expensive restaurants on the main street...
