Pickled red onions are great for adding a little something-something to your meals. They’re deliciously tart, bring a ton of flavour to your dish and depending on what you add to your pickling, can also add a little heat. Add them to tacos, chilli con carne or have them with rajma, chole bhature and more. The options are endless really. They can even be paired with burgers and are great at barbecues.
Japanese curry is the dish to make when you’re looking for something warm and comforting yet simple to put together. I’ve made a vegetarian version of this recipe, keeping it simple and traditional with potatoes and carrots. Wondering which brand of Japanese curry roux cubes is the best? My favourite brand for the Japanese curry blocks is the S&B Golden Curry. They have a few different heat choices – including mild, medium and hot. But I always get hot because spice is life!
Earl Grey tea and gin make a perfect cocktail pairing. It's soo easy to make and perfect at parties. You can make a big batch in a teapot and get people to pour it out into their cups for a little bit of fun! Not to mention it's very tasty too. I used Roku gin which has prominent Sakura flower and yuzu peel flavour notes but you can use any type of gin really. Garnish your cocktail with mint and lemon and you have a delish drink waiting for you!
I'm seeing a lot of recipes on my feed for cold, cosy weather but over on my side of the world, it's just starting to heat up! This watermelon salad is going to be the dish you throw together on those hot days 🍉⠀ ⠀ The key thing here is get an understanding of the flavour profiles and then just throw everything together! I used mint + basil to keep things fresh and added chillies + pepper to contrast with the sweetness of the watermelon 🌶️⠀
In tonight's dinner, the red kidney and white kidney bean meet in this rajma inspired dish. It kind of looks like rajma but it's hiding a little secret 🤫 Mixed into the masala is a can of blitzed up cannellini beans (a.k.a white kidney beans). It serves the double purpose of adding creaminess to the dish as well as adding a bit of extra protein. Delicious and quick dinner 😋 Served with pickled red onion, carrot raita and parathas. P.S Curry leaves and coriander used in this dish were grown in

A great recipe if you're looking for an amazing high protein veggie burger 🍔 Lentils and quinoa are two high protein ingredients and, including the sweet potato, are a great source of the good vitamins and minerals that we need. Vegan burgers can be a bit bland but this lentil, quinoa and sweet potato burger uses Indian spices to really pack in the flavour. The consistency of the veggie patties is great too. It isn't crumbly and won't fall apart as you eat it.
