WWI Trench Warfare Activity We began the day by having students do a reading on "Life in the Trenches." They then have to draw a model of the trenches then actually build it with dirt. We provide them a pan, dirt, Popsicle sticks, army men, yarn, and plastic spoons. Once they build their trenches they have to explain which side is which and where is the "No-Man's Land" and why the trenches were set up in a certain way. A great hands-on activity!
