use dried banana peels as a plant fertilizer, a great source of phosphorus, potassium and other important trace minerals for plants- to dry banana peels, place them on paper towels in an open weave basket
keep shells in open container in fridge. When full, crush shells into small bits and sprinkle around base of plants. Sharp eggshells will deter slugs, snails, and other bugs from nibbling on garden and add touch of calcium to soil.
Good idea, but kinda gross looking. You could probably hide it somehow at the bottom of the tree with other plants. Sticky tape on fruit tree trunk prevents crawling insects from reaching the fruit, and is surprisingly effective.
