Finding Proof & Citing Evidence- for first and second grade. Get ready for STAAR!
Great way to teach finding evidence from the text. After reading a book together as a class come up with an argument (ex. Julius is the Baby of the World) and have each class member look through the text to find and cite statements that support this argument. Then go through them as a class and talk about which statements supported the argument and which didn't. Anchor Charts, Ipad, Library Lessons, Reading Classroom, Reading Workshop
