Venafro is a province of Isernia, region of Molise, Italy. It has a population of around 12,000. Stayed the night at Dimora del Prete di Belmonteon (still owned and run by the family) on our way to the 70th anniversary of Monte Cassino capture. The hilltop sanctuary was the site of the Battle of Monte Cassino 17 Jan – 18 May 1944, where the building was destroyed by Allied bombing and rebuilt after the war. Katrina©B

Australia House, Strand, London. Construction of the building commenced in 1913 by the Dove Brothers, but shipping problems caused by World War I delayed completion. The Commonwealth of Australia's chief architect was John Smith Murdoch. It was officially opened by King George V in a ceremony on 3 August 1918 attended by the Australian Prime Minister William Morris Hughes. Katrina©B
