Families that were separated by the speed by which The Berlin Wall was constructed often times remained separated for life events. Often times children were held up to show them to doting aunts, uncles, and grandparents. The only one that doesn't show genuine escape, however the fear on the mother's face indicates how she hopes to do so.   Berlin. (2017). Berlin During the Cold War.
