Carpobrotus glaucescens, common name "Pigface", is an Australian native succulent groundcover with edible fruit that tastes a bit like salty apple. The fleshy leaves can be used like aloe vera on stings and bug bites, or dehydrated and used as a salt substitute. Very drought tolerant. Can assist with erosion control by soil binding, particularly sandy soils due to roots which emerge as it creeps along the ground.

Aussie Rambler is a tough giant flowering native 'Pig Face' that forms a dense cover of sprawling foliage, making it an ideal ground cover plant.
