Here is my October programme for the 2-3 room. At the moment I am using the Under The Sea Programme Theme Display. I think it looks great and I’ve had lots of parents comments so far, which is great. I use a 12 symbol system, which is also working really well. I had each of my symbols made into a stamp from a person on Ebay, which makes it so easy to link my programming with the EYLF. February's theme for preschool is Children of the World. When I started teaching 4 years ago, this was my least favorite theme. I found it hard to find books that translated well to 3 and 4 year olds. I was not exactly sure what they were supposed to get out of it. Creative Teaching Displays: THUNK of the week!

THUNK of the week!

To get the children thinking outside of the box, I introduced them to THUNKs. These are questions which have no right or wrong answer but get children thinking beyond the lateral. They are encouraged to think from different view points and use their imagination. I display a different THUNK each week in my classroom, displaying it on a Monday morning and allowing the children to write a response on a post-it note on a Friday morning.
