Students can practise the spelling of words which consist of silent letters. This is a fun way to engage the student and get them involved!

I think this would be good for the whole group. It would be fun the have words on the anchor chart and then call on each child to come up and have the "E" wand and choose a word and determine what the new word is with the silent "E" on it.

Word sort choices to go with words their way.

Word Sort Chart: This is a chart to show the different word sort choices students have. The chart can show a schedule for the days of the week students will do each of the choices.

Here's a FREE Speller's Choice Menu that can be used with any spelling list. The kids love it because there's a variety of activities to choose from, and teachers love it because these activities manage to incorporate phonics, grammar, writing AND math!!! :) I just place it in a sheet protector in their take-home binder for them to use with homework every night.
