Introducing Alice, our duck-dog. Although Alice sadly passed away late last year, we felt she deserved an introduction as she was a loyal employee for over 8 years. Alice was bought up from a duckling as a dog and as such spent her work days 'barking' alongside the dogs to announce the arrival of customers. Whenever possible, she would sneak in to the shop to attempt to greet visitors, often running out with a strand of beads. She will be sorely missed.
Introducing Professor McGonagall, shop cat number two (but don't tell her that!). The Professor is a relatively new addition to our workforce, but she has adapted to her roll of meeting and greeting customers with flying colours and is often seen in the front of the shop saying hi. No matter where you are, you'll hear her coming, jingling as her bell adorned necklace announces her presence. Professor is taking over Cat's duties as 'meet and greeter' as Cat enjoys a semi-retirement.
WELL~! It's been a long week and we're all a bit exhausted! The sale is now over in our stores, as we're closed Sundays, but we're keeping it running until 5pm Sunday on our website, www.eurekabeads.com.au. So if you've missed something, you can still order and get sale prices! (remember, if you're local, we also have a pickup option so there are no postage charges). Here's Cobber, taking a nap on a post bag and looking a wee bit tired!
Introducing our original shop cat, Cat. Her hobbies include chasing beads and destroying displays. Work duties include welcoming bus groups and showing off the latest in cat fashion. Favourite place to hang out is on the counter under a lamp, or on the front path in the way of everyone!
Introducing Cobber the Queensland Heeler. As the only male on the payroll in a rather feminine workplace, Cobber's job is to "keep it real". He achieves this by stealing food, being smelly and destroying stuff. Yes, that is thousands of dollars worth of Swarovski packaging that Cobber is pictured playing with!
Introducing Pavlova the Border Collie. Pavlova is a native to the area, born to Toomuc Vallian parents. Her work duties include whimpering at the gate to be patted by visitors (the smaller the better!) and keeping a watchful eye on youngsters. On her days off, she enjoys a visit from the puppy parlour on wheels, to keep her locks looking good. As with most of our four-legged employees, Pavlova is also a big fan of chasing beads, we just try to catch her before she swallows them!
And here is Cat supervising the creation of a new necklace. Introducing our original shop cat, Cat. Her hobbies include chasing beads and destroying displays. Work duties include welcoming bus groups and showing off the latest in cat fashion. Favourite place to hang out is on the counter under a lamp, or on the front path in the way of everyone!
