"Settles Bridge - *Suwanee, Gwinnett County, Georgia*" |Built in 1896 and constructed with iron & wood. The bridge was built to replace a ferry across the Chattahoochee River operated by the Settles family. It was abandoned in the 1950's after the wood rotted & other nearby bridges were built to cross the river. With its high elevation over the creek below, it makes it less flood prone than the other bridges in the area.
