When water is available, giraffes will often drink daily with splayed forelegs to reach water. However, in arid environments, such as the deserts of northwest Namibia, giraffe absorb the majority of their moisture from condensation that gathers and absorbs from the leaves during the cool nights and coastal fog that covers part of the desert on two out of three nights.
