The kitchen island is bookended with brick columns to create more storage space and dress up existing support posts that couldn’t be moved. I would have red brick wall though and maybe duck egg blue built in shelf.
Break down a wall between kitchen and living areas but keep the load-bearing posts and turn it into an awesome storage island. This can really save the cost of having to do major construction for the load bearing wall.

It seems too good to be true and it probably is but we refinanced our house recently and got out way more money than we thought we could so my huge dream of adding on to the back of my house may become a reality.
