US Marine Corps commandant tells soldiers: 'I hope I'm wrong but there's a war coming'

United States Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance, otherwise known as Force Recon, units are a special operations force under the command of the United States Marine Corps. Many Force Recon Marines have now been integrated into MARSOC, however the Corps still retains its own dedicated Force Recon units.  Recently MARSOC changed the name of their special forces from Recon to Raiders.

Although the Marines’ Hymn made an appearance around the 1800s, it didn’t have an official version until 1929, when Commandant of the Marine Corps Maj. Gen. John A. Lejeune authorized the hymn as we know it.

R. Lee Ermey spent 11 years in the Marine Corps, Two of which were spent as being a Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego from 1965-67.
