The 800 islands of the Mergui Archipelago, west of the Malay Peninsula, are sparsely populated by the semi-nomadic Moken people, who rely on the coral reefs and wildlife underwater to sustain them. Thanks to coral bleaching, overfishing, and destructive fishing methods by commerical fisherman have taken a toll on the existing reef. The Moken fishing communities, on kabang boats, are best seen from aboard a Burma Boating charter yacht. –Paul Brady
