She made this bench out of milk crates zip-tied together.  I then  added a bench seat to the top.  It is also zip-tied on.  I bought  the red crates at Lowes for @ $7.

Milk crates zip-tied together on their sides so that a bench seat fits on top and red bins from Lowe's can slide inside them. I don't have any milk crates, though. I also don't know what "zip-tied" means. I would use different colors.

For the bench, just line up the desired amount of crates on their sides and zip tie them sideways first.  Once they are attached, place them on top of the wood to make the holes for the zip ties to attach
