EVIDENCE OF ABSENCE : Northern Spotted Owls are still vanishing from the Northwest. The Northern Spotted Owl came to epitomize the struggle between logging and conservation in the Pacific Northwest during the 1990s. Despite attempts to help the species bounce back, it is just as imperiled today.
