Vision is our most "dominant" sense. First, light enters the eye; then, organs in the eye perform transduction, turning visual signals into neural impulses. Then, neural impulses are transported to the Occipital Lobe's Visual Cortex and interpreted.
This piece is very different, but still inspirational in the fact that having something missing of the woman but then through her face showing how she really feels, like a fear inside her head. This has given me an idea to use my text and word this way,

Steep, DARREN THOMPSON FINE ART. Steep is part of a series depicting the female figure reading. Many of these works in the series have the setting in subways. I try to downplay the figures face as much as I can. This painting is a good example of this. The human eye will be attracted the figure's face first and foremost.
