I came across Bobotie phyllo pies at the Biscuit Mill Market a few months ago and knew right away I was going to make my own version of these. I’m particularly keen on working with phyllo.

Ekmek Kataifi. An amazing Greek desert. Sweet, gooey shredded philo pastry on the bottom, creamy smooth semolina custard in the middle, light fluffy whipped cream and nuts on top. The recipe seems pretty intense, but luckily, I live in Astoria, one of the biggest Greek neighborhoods in the country, so I don't have to make it myself :-)

Kittencal s Greek Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Triangles from Food.com:   								I have been making these for years for my get togethers and I sometimes make these using phyllo dough but puff pastry is really just as good and more convenient --- I sometimes add in roasted garlic into the spinach mixture and also a pinch of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat --- these are so good and make wonderful appetizers!
