The scaly anteater, or Pangolin is an oddity in the animal world because it is the only mammal sporting scales. With eight different species, four of them found in Africa, and four found in Asia, they all share something else. They are disappearing.
Pangolin (also referred to as a scaly anteater or trenggiling) is a mammal of the order Pholidota. A number of extinct species are known. A pangolin has large keratin scales covering its skin, and is the only known mammal with this adaptation.
