Stock doves are similar in plumage to rock doves/feral pigeons, but a bit smaller. Perhaps the most differentiating feature is their black eyes. Mostly blue-grey with a pinkish breast and iridescent green neck patch, they have a black tipped tail and two small black wing-bars on each wing, which are less distinct than the wing-bars on a Rock Dove. Unlike rock doves/feral pigeons, Stock Doves do not have pale rumps. Over half their European population is found in the UK.
