"Bonfire didn't build the spirit of Texas A & M, the spirit of Texas A & M built the bonfire. The spirit isn't dead. It's here tonight and will continue forever." Bonfire Remembrance Day is observed each year on November 18 in recognition of the tragedy that brought A & M's 90-year-old tradition to a halt.
