The Hill Of Crosses stands about 12 km north of the city of Šiauliai, Lithuania, which was captured by Germany in WWII. After the war, it once again came under the control of Russia - by 1940, 400 large symbolic crosses stood on the hill, surrounded by thousands of smaller ones. Castle Hill is a location and a high country station in New Zealand's South Island. It is located at an altitude of 700 metres. The hill was m named because of the imposing array of limestone boulders in the area reminiscent of an old, run-down stone castle.
