Chance Vought F4U Corsair, one of the best aircraft used by the US Navy and US Marines during WW2 and Korea, they were far superior to the Japanese aircraft of the same time, with pilots better trained than their Imperial counterparts. The wings were bent to make sure the massive 13 foot propeller had clearance of e flight deck.
