This 4 feet and 10 inches large animal was later kept at the house of Karachi citizen Ronaq Lakhani who informed WWF-#Pakistan officials about the incidence. A joint team of WWF-Pakistan and the Sindh Wildlife Department recently rescued two stray Indus River dolphin calves caught in a canal in eastern Pakistan. The calves, a male and female, were stranded in the Dehar Wah canal for two hours before the successful rescue saw them released 80 km downstream.
Meet Rab Nawaz, an English expat who first came to Pakistan on Brigadier Mukhtar's (WWF-Pak's head at the time) invitation in 1994. His first project was a three year survey project for pheasants and wildlife in NWFP (now Kyber Pakhtunkhwa). He is part of the team that tracked and collared commonleopard in Pakistan and has played a vital role in creating awareness among the community for the need of plantation and co-existence with the big cat. Meet Shahzadi Tunio, an expert in the field, communicating with the local communities. She first joined WWF-Pakistan in 1998 and then rejoined in 2007 because this is the work she feels most satisfied with.
