This week's Freebie Friday giveaway is a page of Indigenous games! These games provide a fun variation on more commonly-known western games like chasey, hide-and-seek, tunnel ball etc. As well as being an enjoyable and effective way to burn energy, this hands-on approach is a great way to teach students about this part of Indigenous culture.

Dot paintings can be painted on anything though in aboriginal times they used to paint dot pictures on rocks, caves etc. Mostly indigenous Australians painted nature like animals or lakes and of course the dream time. They used to paint stories and legends on caves and rocks to represent their religion.

Our children are learning about Australia, so we displayed a huge outline of the continent Australia on the wall outside our classroom. Then the children cut out pictures of things they would pack in their suitcases to take with them on their trip! Each suitcase had a luggage tag with their name on it attatched to their suitcase!
