#ThrowbackThursday #TBT A great reminder to get out old photographs and put names to faces. Talk to relatives and old neighbours. If you get stuck why not contact us at www.genealogy.ie. The photo is from around 1960 of 12th Cork Scouts (Scouting Ireland). Michael Hassett, Dad of Jillian is kneeling to the right. At this stage we have identified most people in this picture. It has led to great stories and memories.

Who are the favourite couple in your FamilyTree? In about 1885, Elizabeth Anne Smith discovered that she had lost her purse, and therefore all of her savings. She reported it to the first Constable she found: Thomas Hassett. Later, when it was found, Thomas had the task of returning it to Elizabeth. From this developed a friendship, which led to courtship and marriage.
