When we set up the website for Davis Day Tours we made almost everything link to their Facebook page, including events. This means the time spent keeping the website up to date with new tour information and photos of old tours is virtually zero. Check out how we did it.
To round out the Facebook integration, we added a News page that shows all updates on the Davis Day Tours Facebook page in a Pinterest style layout. No double entry is required to keep everybody up to date.
When an event is clicked on in the Davis Day Tours home page banner or on the dedicated Day Tours page, we show a page with all the details from the Facebook event along with an enquiry form. When the form arrives in the Davis Day Tours inbox it has all the details about the event included in the email so they can easily keep track of it.
Davis Day Tours makes heavy use of Facebook events so we made their website read all the events from Facebook - including cover photos, dates and locations - to present them on their website. No extra effort is required.
Davis Day Tours publishes a lot of photos on their Facebook page so we made their website fetch them automatically. All they have to do is create photo albums and add photos from tours. Everything else, including creation of thumbnails and lightboxes, is done by the software underneath their website.
The banners on the Davis Day Tours home page are directly taken from their upcoming Facebook events. The picture is the event over photo and the description includes the event name, location, dates and description. This is done automatically so Davis Day Tours only has to maintain their events on their Facebook page and they never update these on their website.
