(7 April 1939 – 15 June 1992). Australian Surrealist and Neo-expressionist portrait and landscape artist. He was the youngest artist to have work bought by TATE Modern and the only artist ever to simultaneously win the Archibald, Sulman and Wynn prizes (1978).

The Brett Whiteley Studio at 2 Raper Street, Surry Hills, was the workplace and home of Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939–1992).    Now a gallery and studio museum managed by the Art Gallery of NSW.

This was the actual studio of ill-fated artist and beloved Sydney icon, Brett Whitely. Trawling through reference books, observing unfinished works and even a look through Whitley’s music collection is a moving and unique experience
