Syzygium wilsonii is a shrub or small tree with arching branches and leaves that are narrowly oval in shape and about 100 to 180 mm long by 30 to 50 mm wide. New growth is reddish bronze and very attractive, while the deep red, powderpuff flowers appear in large clusters, about 100 mm in diameter in spring and early summer. Erythrina crista-galli is a fast growing deciduous Tree that can be kept as a shrub. Its main feature is its incredible giant, pea-shaped, red flowers which appear in spring and summer. When in bloom the flowers make a wonderful sight both close-up and from a distance.
Banksia media is a very handsome native shrub that is quite dense and has dark green serrated edge leaves. Its main feature however are the spectacular, golden yellow, terminal flowers that are 150mm long by 70-90mm diameter. They are cylindrical in shape and quite probably the best looking of all banksias.
