This map points out the Aboriginal tribes that existed in Australia in 1836 and their locations. The downside to this map is the small type that appears here. This map came from the Australian Government’s atlas which is full of different historical and physical maps. Australian was first discovered in 1606 but wasn’t colonized until 1788. Around the time of this map, 1836, the states were beginning to appear as separate colonies and the Aborigine populations began to decline.
