"Pozieres Village"
This is the famous French village of Pozieres where the Australian Soldiers fought in World War One. Four attacking phases cost our forces 23,000 casualties in six weeks. It was part of the German Second Line defences during the Battle of the Somme that started on the 1st July 1916. The famous villages of La Boisselle & Ovillers is only 3000 yards away from here.
